In April 2025, Children First hosted a two-day workshop in collaboration with the India Mental Health Alliance (IMHA), led by Sabine Vermeire, Narrative and Systemic Practitioner.
The workshop brought together 43 participants between the ages of 27 and 40 for an immersive exploration of creative and community-rooted approaches to supporting children and families through trauma. Through storytelling, role play, and hands-on activities using beads, art, and puppetry, participants reflected on how therapeutic practices can be reimagined to centre safety, belonging, and relational resilience.
Inspired by the lived experiences of many of our founding cohort members; India Mental Health Alliance recognises the need for a robust mental healthcare ecosystem in India.
