Knowledge Centre
An IMHA Offering
-Strategic Discussion Meeting (July, 2025)
Mental health knowledge in India is dispersed, siloed, and often difficult to access. There is no single space that brings together curated, cross-sectoral and Lived Experience Expertise (LEE) focussed mental health resources for diverse stakeholders.
Mental health knowledge in India is dispersed, siloed, and often difficult to access. There is no single space that brings together curated, cross-sectoral and Lived Experience Expertise (LEE) focussed mental health resources for diverse stakeholders.
The Knowledge Centre responds to this gap:
- A central platform designed to support programme design, advocacy, funding, and community-led action through accessible, high-quality information
- Addresses mental health as well as cross-sectoral (education, gender, climate, etc.) needs
- Designed for multiple kinds of users including practitioners, educators, healthcare workers, funders, and researchers
- Wide range of formats including research reports, case studies, toolkits, policy analyses, and thematic studies
- Emphasis on Lived Experience Engagement
The Knowledge Centre already features over 300 curated resources drawn from credible, publicly available national and international sources. What makes this initiative unique is its commitment to being collaborative, responsive, and easy to navigate. The Knowledge Centre is a dynamic, growing platform that will evolve with contributions from Alliance members and partner organisations. We are in the process of building this into a fully accessible portal, which will soon be integrated into the Alliance website for easier access and engagement.
We are also working towards curating resources in regional languages to strengthen accessibility and better serve diverse communities across the country.
